WORKPLACE PROGRAMS

Drug-Free Workplace

In 1988, the United States created the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988, saying that in order to receive federal grants or contracts, the company must supply a drug-free workplace.

While not all businesses work with the federal government, providing a drug free workplace is paramount for worker and property safety as well as increasing employee morale and productivity. Your drug-free program may include policies and programs to prevent the misuse and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, addressing substance abuse through health and wellness programs, and providing intervention services for employees and their families.

Most successful drug-free workplace programs have five components. Contact us today to help you set up those components and help provide you and your business an effective Drug-Free Workplace Program. Let us help you reduce risk and increase profits.

Workplace Violence

Workplace violence is violence, or the threat of violence, in the workplace or when an employee is on the job, and can range anywhere from threats, to verbal abuse, physical assaults, and even homicide. However the violence manifests, it is a growing concern for employers and employees nationwide. About 2 million Americans are victims to workplace violence each year.

The cost of workplace violence is staggering. A single incident can have tremendous repercussions, including immediate loss of life, physical or psychological trauma felt by the victim as well as the victim’s family, friends, and co-workers, loss of productivity and morale, and the public relations nightmare an employer has to face when news of the violence reaches the media.

Workplace violence affects other areas as well, including:

  • Temporary/Permanent Absence of Skilled Employee

  • Psychological Damage

  • Property Damage, Theft, and Sabotage

  • Productivity Impediments

  • Diversion of Management Resources

  • Increased Security Costs

  • Increased Worker’s Compensation Costs

  • Increased Personnel Costs

Everyone wants to feel safe when they go to work, and Coe Management Group can help you put together a program to prevent workplace violence and create a safe environment for everyone.
